Cheesy Bacon & Ham Chowder30+ mins 5 - 10 people
Turn up the creaminess of this ham and bacon chowder with the addition of Eden cheese.
50 grams, Eden Meltsarap, grated
2 tbsp, Cheese Whiz
100 grams, Bacon, chopped
100 grams, Ham slices
40 grams, Carrots, diced
100 grams, Onion, diced
100 grams, Potatoes, diced
1 ltr, Chicken stock, prepared
2 cups, Full cream milk
as desired, Water
as desired, Salt to taste
as desired, Pepper to taste
In a pot, sauté bacon until it has rendered fat and toasted. Set aside.
Sauté white onions on the same pot until translucent.
Pour in chicken stock and milk. Bring to boil & simmer.
Add in ham, carrots, potatoes, and continue cooking for about 45 minutes to an hour or until the potatoes are soft and tender.
Just right before you turn off the heat, mix in the grated Eden Meltsarap, and Cheez Whiz then continue cooking for about 3 more minutes.
Transfer to bowl and garnish with the remaining Eden Meltsarap and toasted bacon.
