Cheesy Ensaymada25 - 30 mins 5 - 10 people
You can never go wrong with extra cheese on Ensaymada.
4 1/4 CUPS FLOUR
1 TBSP HONEY
3/4 CUP WATER
1/2 CUP EDEN ORIGINAL
1 TBSP INSTANT YEAST
1 TBSP POWDERED MILK
6 EGG YOLKS
1 1/4 CUP SUGAR
1 CUP, BUTTER, UNSALTED
1/2 CUP BUTTER, SALTED
1 CUP EDEN MELT SARAP, GRATED
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add grated Eden Original and mix.
In a small bowl, mix honey and water. Add honey mixture, yeast, powdered milk, yolks, and 3/4 cup sugar to the flour mixture. Mix using an electric mixer to form a dough.
Transfer dough to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave the dough to rise for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once dough doubles in size, cut it into individual serving pieces.
Arrange dough on a greased baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 4 hours. Once the dough has doubled in size, bake at 350F for 15 minutes or until slightly brown. Remove from oven and leave to cool.
Prepare the topping by beating unsalted butter with 1/2 cup sugar. Spread mixture on ensaymada buns and top with grated Eden cheese.
