Ginataang Manok with Sitaw

Pinoy fave Ginataang Manok gets an extra creamy and cheesy update!

Ingredients

1 WHOLE CHICKEN, CUT INTO PIECES,  

340G SQUASH,  

12 PIECES SITAW, CUT INTO 2-INCH LENGTH,  

1 ONION, DICED,  

4 GARLIC CLOVES, CRUSHED,  

1 PACK GINATAANG GULAY MIX,  

2 3/4 CUP WATER,  

2 TSP FISH SAUCE,  

1/8 TSP BLACK PEPPER,  

3 TBSP COOKING OIL,  

1/2 CUP EDEN MELT SARAP, SHREDDED,

Method:

In a pot, heat garlic and onion. Add chicken and cook until light brown. Pour 2 cups of water and cook over medium heat for 40 minutes. Add squash and cook for 5 minutes.

Prepare gata by combining 3/4 cup of lukewarm water with ginataang gulay mix. Pour into the pot and cook for 2 minutes, then add the sitaw. Cover the pot and let it cook for another 5 minutes.

Season with black pepper and fish sauce. Stir and cook for 1 minute.

Remove from heat, then top with Eden melt cheese.
