Serve these savory Asian-inspired teriyaki chicken wings with a side of garlic mayo.
1/2 KG CHICKEN WINGS,
1 1/4 TBSP SALT,
1/2 TSP BLACK PEPPER,
1 CUP AND 1 TSP CORNSTARCH,
1/4 CUP WATER,
1/4 CUP HONEY,
1/2 CUP KETCHUP,
1 GINGER, MINCED,
2 GARLIC, MINCED,
1/4 CUP AND 1 TSP SESAME OIL,
2 TBSP MIRIN,
1 CUP SOY SAUCE,
1/4 CUP GREEN ONIONS, FINELY CHOPPED,
1 CUP EDEN MAYO,
Season chicken wings with salt and pepper. Set aside for 30 minutes, then coat in cornstarch. In a deep cooking pot, heat oil and deep fry chicken wings for 10 minutes or until chicken is crispy. Drain chicken on a plate lined with paper towels.
In a pan, pour water, honey, ketchup, ginger, 1 tsp garlic, and sesame oil. Mix well, then add soy sauce and 1 tsp cornstarch. Stir and leave to simmer until sauce becomes thick. Add 1/2 cup of water and cornstarch. Mix well and leave to a boil. Pour the soy sauce and cornstarch to the mixture and stir. Leave to simmer until the sauce becomes thick.
Coat the fried chicken wings with the sauce and sprinkle the sesame seeds and scallions.
Prepare the dip by mixing 1 tsp garlic, green onion, 1/4 cup oil, and Eden Mayo. Continue mixing until the consistency is smooth.
Place the chicken wings on a serving plate and serve the dip alongside.
